About
(b 1985, High Wycombe, UK) lives and works in Bristol.
Adam’s fluid, amorphous compositions unfold in the space between nature, figuration, and abstraction—where memory and time quietly overlap. His surfaces, built through layered washes of colour and dry-brushed textures, feel weathered and impermanent, echoing the slow erosion of time and the shifting nature of perception.
Rather than capturing a fixed image, his paintings emerge gradually, tracing what’s left behind—faded impressions, fleeting forms, and partial memories. They grow out of moments of disintegration and intuitive excavation, revealing reimagined psycho-geographical spaces where inner and outer worlds blur.
Adam’s work moves between presence and absence, between what is remembered and what is lost. Figures, shapes, and landscapes surface, only to dissolve again, reflecting the way memory and place are continually reshaped. In this tension, his paintings act as a kind of spiritual archaeology—layering personal and collective histories with imagined possibilities.
These works don’t just hold space; they stretch across time. They are not merely remnants of the past, but speculative forms that also reach forward—toward what is still forming, still unknown.
